Once digitized and preserved, the data can then be enhanced and used to add value to ongoing and future processing and interpretation activities. Frequently in the exploration industry, historical seismic data is only available in a hard copy format. Often these seismic sections cover exploration areas that lack modern seismic coverage. Conversion of the hardcopy sections to digital SEGY data is a cost efficient solution to obtaining greater seismic coverage in areas where little other data may exists. Paper does not last forever and it cannot be readily used for the purpose of advanced manipulation and processing using modern techniques, hence scanning and vectorization is the only way to take full advantage of your data. Digitization of hard copy seismic sections empowers you to:

b- Well Log Scanning and digitizing

The vectorization of well logs is carried out with the NeuraLog software®*. After scanning and treatment of the document, We digitize the desired curves according to an in-depth grid using the appropriate physical unit. By default we restore a LAS file for each paper document exported using interval of 0,1524 m (0,5 feet) or files output in LIS OR DLIS. Upon request of the customer, we control the results of our vectorization and provide a print of the control as well as the associated image file. The data resulting from the treatment are delivered on CD-ROM, DVD, in the requested format, with the images files resulting from digitalization and the desired QC/control files

c- Composite log and well log evaluation

All logs recorded in the same well both in digital or paper formats are combined, with the overlap removed, to create one composite log. The client can specify which individual curves will be extracted to create the composite file, if not all standard useful curves will be retained. Digitizing from the related paper prints will complete missing intervals from the digital recordings. Selected curves are quality controlled, edited or corrected and merged. Additional curves can be computed and included, like the well geometry (True6 Vertical Depth and Measured Depth) or the two way time TWT from the integrated sonic curve and VSP or check shot information pertaining to each logging run (or date) including environmental parameters, together with a processing report, are included into the composite file and Lithology and Stratigraphy chart as well as
  1. Complete inventory of Digital Log Data files in DLIS, LIS or LAS formats through a ladder display of various record type.
  2. All Well Site Information, tools, Environmental Parameters etc. immediately available through a simple click
  3. Complete list of recorded Log curves with unit, sampling rate and other description depth and log scales presentation, which can also be specified by clients. Output including raw selected log data, depth matched data and composite log data are provided in LIS, DLIS or LAS format on CD or DVD ROM. Once the quality control and conversion are achieved.
  4. Automatic selection of common Log curves with standard scales for screen presentation with various depth scales.
  5. Log curves selection and presentation can be edited and saved at will upon program exit.
  6. Min-Max report for selected Log curves can be displayed and saved.
  7. Any Log curve can be tracked on screen with display of its values versus depth
  8. A color image file is saved upon program exit

Petrophysical log interpretation is one of the most useful and important tools available to a petroleum geologist. Well logs provide insight into the formations and conditions in the subsurface, aimed primarily at detection and evaluation of possibly productive horizons.
